Liquid Petrolium Gas Courses (LPG)

The good majority of our customers who wish to work on LPG also work with natural gas.

Rather than resit lots of assessments they choose to take the generic changeover assessment and related training which provides them with certificates of competency for both types of gas installed within buildings, for appliances installed in boats and caravans. For appliances that are only available for LP gas or for work to storage vessels, additional assessments are required.

Unless you have no need to carry out work on anything other than LP gas we suggest you take assessments for the work categories you require as natural gas and then complete the generic changeover assessments (CONGLP1) adding any specific LPG assessment.

As selection of the appropriate assessment can be a bit complicated we suggest you seek advice from our office prior to booking training and assessments.

NB.

The vocabulary used to identify types of caravans has changed significantly with the introduction of new British & European Standards as follows:

BS 3632 Residential Park Homes
To be utilised for ventilation requirements from 1995

BS EN 721 Leisure Accommodation Vehicles
To be utilised for ventilation requirements from 1999

This standard breaks down LAV’s into 3 categories by referring to the following normative documents:

EN 1645-1 Caravans
EN 1646-1 Motor Caravans
EN 1647-1 Caravan Holiday Homes

These standards will affect the types of appliances operatives will select in addition to the (LAV) core.

* Use appropriate manufacturer’s instructions for flueing requirements (see below)

I. Residential Park Homes (RPH)
II. Leisure Accommodation Vehicles (LAV)
III. Boats (B)
