Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry asked to help shape registration schemes under new F Gas Regulation consultation.
GASTEC is pleased to anounce the introduction of REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING courses to comply with the new changes.
Our approach is to aid and facilitate companies with a ONE STOP SHOP for all their Certification requirements.
Category 1: For personnel who require certification of competence to carry out all work on all systems such as installation, recovery, maintenance and repairs regardless of F-Gas quantity.
The Pipework and Brazing certificate is also required for this category which is recommended before the F-Gas Assessment is attempted.
Category 2: For personnel who require certification of competence to carry out recovery, installation, maintenance and repairs on systems containing F Gases (Fluorocarbon Refrigerants) up to 3 Kg. (6 Kg if hermetically sealed system) or Air conditioning / heat pumps up to 5 Kg (6 Kg if hermetically sealed system).
The Pipe work and Brazing certificate is also required for this category which is recommended prior to the F-Gas Assessment being attempted.
CATEGORY 1 Is the more flexible and common module as it allows you to work on above and below 3kg.
WILL YOU BE COMPLIANT BY 2011?
In response to the new F-Gas legislation which comes into force July 2011 making all previous qualifications invalid.
The Construction Skills (formally CITB) have replaced their existing refrigerant handling qualifications with the new F-Gas legislation requirements with the exception of Ammonia which remains unchanged.
