ACS Core Commercial Catering Gas Safety – CCCN1

Assessment duration : 2 days (One day theory and one day practical)

This gas safety assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in core commercial catering gas work by practical and knowledge and understanding assessment.

This assessment is the pre-requisite for all other commercial catering natural gas safety assessments.

This Gas Safety assessment comprises of 12 core competences:-

• Gas Safety Legislation
• Gas Emergency Actions and Procedures
• Characteristics of Combustion
• Ventilation
• Installation of Pipework and Fittings
• Checking and/or Setting Meter Regulations
• Identification of Unsafe Situations
• The Operation of and Positioning of Emergency Isolation Controls and Valves
• Emergency Notices and Warning Labels
• Checking and Setting Appliance Burner Pressures
• The Operation and Checking of Appliance Gas Safety Devices and Controls
• Re-establish Existing Gas Supply and Relight Appliances
